A new organisation, The East Meets West Corporation, has been formed to work in the area of joint ventures and technology transfer in the manufacture of environment friendly products. The organisation will be lead by Dr. Hiru Bijlani, management consultant in international business, who will be the managing director and Ms Anneke Van Waesberghe, who will be its chairperson. Ms Waesberghe is also the president of the East Meets West Foundation, New York which was instrumental in the

setting up of the Global Forum (currently headed by Mikhail Gorbachev) which fosters meetings between global leaders on environment related issues. East Meets West Corporation in India will focus via seminars and conferences on interaction between companies which deal in environment-friendly products. The corporation’s special areas of interest are pollution control equipment, energy conservation techniques and enhancement of value addition levels for products. Government approval for the ventures are being processed.
