The
Institute of Management Consultants of India, which
is the apex body of management consultant professionals
in India, is making rapid strides.
The
association which has close to 800 members in the
country has introduced standards of specialization
which have been benchmarked to established international
requirements. |
Says Hiru Bijlani, president IMCI : “The IMCI
has developed a rigorous system for certifying consultants,
which is a self-imposed measure aimed standards of
management consultancy.”
The
institute will also train and upgrade the skills of
its members by holding regular workshops. Bijlani
is of the opinion that industry must not look out
for consultants just on the basis of brand names.
“They should shop around at the IMCI and choose
the best consulant for their needs. Among the major
institutional clients of IMCI are Coopers & Lybrand,
Price Waterhouse, Fergusons, Andersen Consulting,
TCS and others.
